Step-by-Step Guide
-
Sketch a Basic Oval Start by drawing a large oval for the body. Think of it as the bird's cozy home.
-
Add a Triangle for the Head On one side of the oval, draw a smaller triangle for the head. This will be where the bird’s eyes and beak sit.
-
Draw the Wings and Tail Extend two curved lines from the top and bottom of the oval to create the wings. Then, draw a long, pointed shape from the back of the oval for the tail.
-
Detail the Features Add a small circle in the triangle for the eye, a curved line for the beak, and some feathers around the body and wings.
-
Final Touches Erase any extra lines and add shading to give your bird some depth. Use soft, sweeping motions to mimic the flow of real feathers.
Drawing Tips
- Use Light Strokes: Start with gentle, light pencil marks so you can easily adjust your drawing.
- Practice Regularly: The more you draw, the better you'll get. Try drawing birds in different poses!
