Step-by-Step Guide
-
Sketch the Hull Start by drawing a long, curved rectangle to form the body of the ship. Think of it as a big, flat-bottomed boat.
-
Add the Mast Draw a tall, straight line from the middle of the ship's hull to create the mast. This is where the sails will hang.
-
Create the Sails From the top of the mast, draw two triangular shapes that point outward and slightly downward to represent the sails. These should look like big triangles with rounded tops.
-
Detail the Deck and Rudder Add a horizontal line across the top of the hull to show the deck. At the back, draw a small triangle pointing downwards to make the rudder.
-
Final Touches Erase any unnecessary lines and add details like windows or flags. You can also give your ship a name by writing it on the side.
Drawing Tips
- Use Light Strokes: Start with light pencil marks so you can easily erase and adjust.
- Practice Shapes: Before drawing a full ship, practice the basic shapes like the hull and mast separately.
